Stratton was asked about id's state at a recent press event for the Revelations DLC for Doom: The Dark Ages, with the exchange reported via IGN and PC Gamer.
His answer centred on MachineGames, the Wolfenstein: The New Order and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle developer. "We're working more closely with MachineGames than ever," Stratton said. He added that the two studios have always been close partners, and that the current point in technology development reflects talented engineers on both teams.
He described the path as one that started before the layoffs.
PC Gamer notes that MachineGames is rumoured to be working on a third Wolfenstein game. That is a rumour, and Stratton did not address it in the comments reported.
